First of the month rant — April: Woods’ women described as “despicable”

First of all, Tiger Woods deserves all the negative attention he’s getting. Golf’s biggest star, and the most well-known athlete on this planet, has proven to be a major fraud. Pun intended.

He’s a billionaire because of the fake family guy image he and his handlers spun. But all the while, Woods was playing “in the hole” with a large collection of character-flawed women, all of whom were aware he was a married man.

I hate to give credit to tabloid TV shows like CNN’s Showbiz Tonight – that Brooke Anderson co-host is really annoying – but one of the show’s female guests put a different spin on things by trashing all the trashy women who are now revealing all the details of their intimate moments with Woods.

Sunny Hostin, who provides legal analyst for CNN, didn’t mince words when describing the women who were part of Woods’ harem.

“Look, the bottom line is there is no honor among thieves,” Hostin said. “And there’s no honor among cheaters. And so they are just women that are just as despicable and disgusting as Tiger Woods is.

“And so, of course, they are spilling their guts because they want their five or 10 or 15 minutes of fame and that’s why they are doing it. He deserves what he gets but I think people should start looking at these women for who they are.

“They are cheaters. They are adulterers. Everyone knew this man was married. I think they are just as despicable.”

Well put. One woman reportedly accepted $10 million from Woods not to publicly reveal details of their flings – isn’t extortion a crime?

It turns out four of the women who had affairs with Woods are revealing all kinds of details in Vanity Fair Magazine about what type of sex they had with Woods or how much money he gave them for sexual acts (um, isn’t that prostitution?) and other sordid details.

Do these women (yes, I’m using the term “loosely”) really think they are impressing people with this rush for publicity? Are they hoping to cash in on some coin before they fade back into oblivion? (Yes, that includes you, the unattractive Perkins’ waitress).

Don’t they feel awkward about having their fathers and brothers – and in some cases, children – reading or hearing about what classless skanks they are? Knowingly sleeping with a married man shouldn’t be something you advertise to the world and boast about. (Though I do understand why the porn star has no shame about it).

But I suppose they’ve all seen other women prosper from scandalous things: How come the man can lose his career (Eliot Spitzer) and/or reputation (Woods and Bill Clinton) while the women who engage in such questionable behavior benefit from their lack of morals?

Doesn’t it take two to tango?

Basically, the women Tiger put his paws on don’t have much credibility to begin with, so perhaps the issue of self-respect isn’t relevant anyway.

Another female guest on Showbiz Tonight, Carolina Bermudez, the senior editor of “In Touch Weekly,” probably nailed the way most people think of these gals with this retort:

“I’m dubbing this year – 2010 is the year of the skanky mistress because all of them have a story to tell. They all want to get their time in the limelight.

“And I think that the longer that we wait, we’re going to hear more and more stories. And I think that they are very true. These women don’t have a shred of dignity, obviously. They’re coming out. They want that publicity. They want the fame.

“But they are willing to tell stories that you would take to the grave, honestly. These are embarrassing stories. When I was reading it, all I could think was, ‘Ewww. Oh my gosh.’ ”

Woods makes his return to golf next week at the Masters and the event promises to be a television ratings hole-in-one. But think about it, most people aren’t tuning in to watch Woods the golfer. They are tuning in to see a freak show as the golfer who once had a family man image tries to change his new Porn Golfer Putter image around.

Woods definitely deserves all the abuse he’ll receive. Not just for his poor decisions but for the curb-level-low caliber of women he chose to fool around with.

A billionaire should be able to do much better when he decides to cheat on his wife.
